Excellent news! Although only one person can win the ARC of CROSSED here on the blog, my awesome publisher has sent me a couple of copies to give away at my library events this summer. I’ll have some my event next Tuesday, June 21 at the Orem Library, and a few more at the event in August at the Salt Lake City Public Library. You must be present to win (we’ll do a drawing or something like that). As always, check the Events page for more info.

People often ask me what kind of books I like to read and I always say “anything.” My three favorite authors of all time are Wallace Stegner, Anne Tyler, and Agatha Christie. I read a lot of young adult novels–a LOT. I love them.

And I also read a lot of adult fiction. Particularly when I’m doing my own writing. I think it’s because I find it restful in that it’s different from what I do. It feels more like a break.

Right now I’m reading The Tragedy of Arthur by Arthur Phillips. I’m not very far in but I love a story within a story, like POSSESSION by A.S. Byatt. So far, it is excellent (I’m only about 20 pages in).

What are you reading?

P.S. I’m at WIFYR today, giving a keynote address at 3:00 p.m. and then signing books afterwards until 6:00 p.m. It’s all open to the public! Come visit.

I’m actually *shockhorror* between books at the moment. Just finished reading Elana Johnson’s Possession (thanks for recommending it! It was awesome), and now I think I’ll start Forgotten by Cat Patrick. Can’t vouch for the book yet, but the cover (at least here in Britain) is SO gorgeous.

Wallace Stegner and Anne Tyler are two of my favorites. Have you tried anything by Thomas Costain. He wrote historical non-fiction and fiction.

I’m currently reading ‘The Forest of Hands and Teeth’ by Carrie Ryan. I never thought I would be reading a book set in a zombie apocolypse, but the paperback was only $7 from Kmart, so I thought – Why not? I’m loving it so far, Carrie’s writing is beautiful.

I also read a lot of YA it’s actually pretty scary, I’m pretty sure my husband thinks there is something very wrong with me, but I love the escape!

I am reading Moon Over Manifest. I try to read books before I offer them to my 5th graders. Wish I could attend both events but my husband is in the hospital so I am not going far.

I’ve started reading a few books, but none are grabbing me. I hate not loving a book when I start it. 🙁 Can’t wait to read Crossed. Will the drawing be throughout the time you are in Orem? I’d love to come, but can’t stay the whole time.

Oh, the Orem one doesn’t say how long it lasts. Guess I was looking at another one.
