Reached Tour and Preorders, & September Events…

Summer is over(ish)…school has started. I have two kids still home with me, but everyone else in my family (including my husband, who is a professor) is in that whirlwind of many new things. It’s kind of exciting and bittersweet in a myriad of ways. I’m not going back to school, but I’m gearing up for an autumn of traveling to support REACHED (less than three months now, guys!). I feel really lucky that my series has been releasing in November, because it feels like the perfect month–November is always the month when I feel like I could use something awesome happening. (Also: January.)

I found out my REACHED tour dates and locations, and I couldn’t be more excited. I will update the Events page as more info becomes known, but I wanted to let you know dates and locations as soon as I had them:

Salt Lake City
Tuesday, November 13, 7 p.m. Launch Event with The King’s English.
Event will be held at Rowland Hall, Salt Lake City, so we have extra space…and guess what will be at the launch. The REACHED bubble! Just think of the excellent pictures you can take with all your friends! I also want to remind those coming to the launch to support your local indie and purchase through The King’s English Bookshop–you can preorder here or buy the books at The King’s English the night of the event. Also, for those of you whose cities I am not visiting, you can preorder before the night of the event and I will sign and personalize and The King’s English will ship the books to you! They are amazing.

Wednesday, November 14, 7:00 p.m. Anderson’s Bookshop.

Woo hoo! I LOVE Anderson’s and can’t wait to get back to their store, and to see any of you who can make it to the event!

Omaha, Nebraska
Friday, November 16, Time TBA, The Bookworm.
I have been to Omaha before, but never for a signing, and I can’t wait!

Houston, Texas
Tuesday, November 27th, 7 p.m. Blue Willow Bookshop.
I’ve heard so many good things about this bookstore, but never had a chance to visit until now–also, this will be my first signing in Houston. Also, I loved the book The Blue Willow when I was a child–one of my all-time favorites.

Miami/Coral Gables, Florida
Wednesday, November 28th, 7 p.m., Books and Books.
My first trip to Miami (ever) and Books and Books!

Washington, D.C./Bethesda, Maryland
Thursday, November 29, 5 p.m., Bethesda Library.
It’s been a bit since I’ve been to DC…I’m very excited to get to visit it (and this library).

Raleigh, North Carolina
Friday, November 30, 7 p.m., Quail Ridge Bookstore.
This was such a fun stop on the Breathless Reads Tour…it will be lovely to be back.

I also thought I’d remind you guys of a very fun event coming up on Monday, September 10th, 2012 (just a few weeks from now!): the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour launches in Salt Lake City! The event is hosted by The King’s English Bookshop, but will be held at Rowland Hall’s Lincoln Street Campus at 7:00 p.m. that evening. For more info, and to preorder books, click here.  I’ll be signing, and so will a host of FANTASTIC authors who are in town for just that night–Melissa Marr, Kelley Armstrong, Carrie Ryan, Bethany Griffin, Richelle Mead, and Margaret Stohl. It’s going to be an awesome event.

I’m also going to be in Edmonton, Canada, on September 13th, as part of the Smart Chicks Tour (more details here). Any fans from Alberta out there? I am so excited to meet you!

And I’ll be in Austin, TX on September 29th as part of the Austin Teen Book Fest. More info here.

Whew! I feel the strangest urge to start packing RIGHT NOW…

Grr nowhere near me. Next time come to Nashville!! 🙂

  • Bethesda is a great library…they are the KING of author events in Maryland. I wish the libraries closer to me would jump into these things! I’m closer to Baltimore, but I’ve been to the Bethesda library a few times for other events and I will definitely try to make it there for you at the end of November! 🙂

I can’t believe how much you look like your mom. I took several classes from her at SUU. I remember when you were about 6-7 years old, she brought you to class, and I had my daughter, Jenny Marie Reyes with me, and the two of you played at a table in the back of the room together. Now I read your books with my literature class, and the name coincidence was just too good not to share with you. I love your work, and so do my students.

I teach high school English and am always looking for engaging young adult novels … I picked up Matched from our librarian and couldn’t put it down! Crossed was equally as suspenseful. Looking forward to meeting you in Naperville as it’s only a 30 minute trip from me!

I just finished reading Crossed and now I cannot wait for Reached to come out! These are the best books I have read in a very long time, they are just what I needed right now. I hope I will get to meet you someday because I would love to know how you came up with such an amazing story. Please let me know if you are ever coming to Phoenix!
