matched madness: galley giveaway and videos!

Three of the MATCHED fansites are giving away galleys of CROSSED (they won’t be available for a bit, but they’re selecting the winners now). They also have exclusive videos from me telling a little about CROSSED and they’ll be posting those, along with the giveaways, all week. The giveaways include other fun items as well! Here are the sites and their addresses and dates that the videos/giveaways are posted:

Monday, March 21: The Matched Department
Wednesday, March 23: The-Society.net
Friday, March 25:The LiveJournal Community for the Matched Trilogy

Many thanks to Penguin and to the fansites for putting this together!

And now for a few answers regarding some FAQ about CROSSED…

Can I get a galley/ARC of the book?

I don’t have any to give away right now. But you can contact my publicist (her e-mail address is under the FAQ section of this site). I can’t guarantee that contacting her will result in a galley, but that is the way to go about requesting one.

Is there any way the release date can be moved up? November is really far away!

No, I’m sorry. Books in series are often released about a year apart, so this is pretty much par for the course. Plus, it is incredibly, incredibly important to me that the books be the best I can make them, and it takes me about a year to write a book.

You had the summary of CROSSED posted and then took it down. Why?

I realized after I posted it that I am a spoiler-phobe. If you like to seek out summaries, reviews, etc., before the book is released that is totally great. But as the author it’s also kind of fun for me to have people experience the story as it unfolds, without any preconceptions, even those from an official summary or info on the back of the book. So I have no problem with the summary that is out there, but I also thought I would keep this blog spoiler-free for those who want to experience the story as it is.

That’s it for this week! I’m traveling to Mississippi to do school visits and presentations for the Oxford Conference of the Book, so I won’t be posting on Thursday. I did go back and answer comments from the last post, though!

AND, I will be back next Tuesday with something very fun to celebrate MATCHED Madness.

Happy MATCHED Madness (and March Madness too)! Go BYU! (I can’t resist. My alma mater made it to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in 30 years.)

***edited to add: I love your comments here, but just to clarify: you have to comment on the links to be entered to win the giveaways. Comments here won’t count. Thanks!

I just read Matched this past week and have to say it ranks up there with 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and the Hunger Games. Incredibly provoking, chilling, and beautifully written.

The idea behind Matched was incredibly innovative! I gave the book a 5 star rating on Good Reads (a bibliophile’s dream/website πŸ˜‰ I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this series. The characters are developed so well that the reader can really connect with them.

I absolutely loved the idea of matched. The society and the way it controlled so much. Plus the dangerous connection between ky and cassia. I cannot wait for the next two books. I definitely rank matched as one of my all time favorites.
