logan event, and yalsa list

Quick post–there’s a lot going on this week!–but I wanted to:

1) Remind blog readers of the AWESOME EVENT IN LOGAN starring Shannon Hale, James Dashner, Jessica Day George, Brandon Mull (and I get to come along too). It’s THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 22, and if you are anywhere near it would be great to see you there. Details here.

2) Share some wonderful news! MATCHED was nominated for YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten List for 2011! It’s such an honor to be included (click here to see the full list of nominees). I am over the moon about this. What a thrill!

3) Thank the awesome librarians, teachers, teens, and fellow authors I was able to meet in Austin last week. I had so much fun at TLA! It was one of those experiences you just wish you could bottle up and save for later. Some of the students I met had even made a book trailer for MATCHED! All kinds of awesome.

4) Wish you all a wonderful Easter/spring weekend!

Fun event in Logan. We were so glad to go. I wrote up a review of Matched and added the picture I took with you on my blog. (Sorry, no photoshop.) Congrats on the nomination! You deserve it.

Congratulations, Ally! I saw Matched on my couch today and I noticed your name on the cover. I told my wife in passing that I had a teacher in high school with the last name Condie. She asked me what subject she taught…”English”…the light bulb went on. I looked you up and, sure enough, it was you. It is really cool to be reading your book. Thanks for teaching me freshman English. I enjoyed your class, Greek mythology and all. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I seem to remember a Malcolm X poster also. Congratulations again!
