guest post on mtv.com's hollywood crush blog

I know I said I was taking a blog break, but I couldn’t resist the chance to be part of Dystopian Week over at the Hollywood Crush blog at MTV.com. My post is on “Why Dystopian Novels Rock” and you can find it here.

Many thanks to Hollywood Crush for having me!

So cool Ally! I loved how you compared dystopian books to kissing. You know how I feel about kissing….

Nice to see Orwell getting the love. 1984 was one of those books that grabbed me right away. Hiding out in that little hidden space in his room, scratching at the varicose vein on his ankle, taking a slug of sick Victory Gin, touching the creamy pages of that journal. All those wonderful details.

Come to think of it, those kind of details are what I loved the most about Matched. Maybe some of it rubbed off?
