eight years writing

I came up on this anniversary a month or two ago and thought, “I should write a post about that!” and then I worked on an actual book instead. I’ve been writing for longer than eight years–since I was small–but I have been writing seriously for eight years now. By “seriously,” I mean several hours every day except Sunday, with the hope of getting published.

The other night I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. This, for me, a chronically exhausted mom of a 2.5 year old who STILL doesn’t sleep through the night, was a big deal.
